RETURN TO PLAY

Frisco Soccer Association Return to Play Guidelines

These Frisco Soccer Association Return to Play Guidelines are meant to provide guidance to FSA participants for when FSA resumes games. We ask that all FSA participants use common sense and to use their best efforts to adhere to these guidelines as practically as possible.

Spectators:

  • Limit to a maximum of 2 spectators per player.
  • Wear a face mask.
  • Maintain 6 feet social distancing from non-family members.
  • Do not have anyone with underlying health conditions or that may be at higher risk from COVID-19 attend games.
  • Spectators should remain 6 feet from the Assistant Referee running the sideline(this means sitting further back from the sideline)

Coaches:

  • Ensure the health and safety of the players, which includes asking if parents took the player’s temperature the day of the practice or game. Inquire how each player is feeling and send home anyone you believe acts or looks sick.
  • Ensure each player has his/her own equipment (ball, water, bag, chair, etc.) and instruct all players not to share equipment.
  • Ensure that the coach is the only person to handle team equipment such as cones, disks, nets, etc. and do not enlist the help of parent, players, or spectators in attendance.
  • All practices should be outdoors and following social distancing guidelines.
  • Wear a face mask.
  • If pennies are used, they should be washed immediately after by the team official responsible for collection after use.
  • Group instructions to players on game days should be kept to a minimum, and have players practice six-foot distancing rather than sitting next to each other.
  • Do not engage in handshakes, hugs, high fives with players or referees.
  • Notify the Frisco Soccer Office if a member of your team has tested positive for COVID-19.
  • Coaches and players should remain 6 feet from the Assistant Referee running the sideline.

Parents and Players:

  • Ensure that the player and all attending spectators are healthy by checking the temperatures before all activities. Do not attend practices or games if any symptoms of COVID-19 such as fever, cough, difficulty breathing or other symptoms identified by the CDC are present or if they have been in contact with someone with COVID-19 in the past 14 days.
  • Face masks are required (Ages 10 years and older) at all times with the exception for players while on the field of play during games and practices.
  • Do not carpool if at all possible.
  • Bring snacks for your player only; do not provide team snacks.
  • Sanitize all equipment (shoes, ball, shin guards, clothing, etc.) before and after each practice or game.
  • All players must bring their own water bottles, towels, hand sanitizers, chairs, etc.
  • No equipment should be shared.
  • Do NOT engage in handshaking, high fives, or hugs during practice or games.
  • If a player tests positive for COVID-19, do not attend any practice or game. Notify your coach and the Frisco Soccer Association office immediately.

COVID-19 STATEMENT FROM FSA - Spring 2020 Cancelled

We understand many of you are questioning how COVID-19 has impacted our Spring season.   As outlined in Governor Abbott's executive order GA-18, individuals may engage in outdoor sports, provided that the sports do not include contact with other participants, and no more than four participants play the sport at any time . While we truly hoped to complete our season following the delays, we are now faced with the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of the season for the safety and well-being of our membership and their families, and look forward to the future.

As a result of the cancellation of the remainder of the Spring season, we will be issuing refunds. Partial refunds will be credited back to players of the teams who were scheduled and played games, while full refunds will be credited to players of teams who  were unable to start the season and  played no games.

Please keep in mind Frisco Soccer Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Partial refunds were determined based on an average of expenses for games not played. Your patience is appreciated as we work to complete refunds for all 4,500 individual players in our association. We will begin working on the issuance of refunds immediately, however completion of this process could take up to June 1st at the latest. Refunds will be credited back to the original payment method during registration (credit card, debit card, etc.).  If you have not received your player's refund by June 1st, please email us to verify your status.

We hope your families have stayed healthy and safe, and we look forward to seeing you back on the pitch for the Fall season. As of now, Fall 2020 registration opens on June 1st, with the season planned to start as scheduled.
